Initial CAD & Understanding the Dimensional Limitations:

Here, I am experimenting with the my tri-fold steering wheel lock concept in CAD and ensuring that the product can be stored in a safe and convenient storage area within a car interior, yet remain at a functional length when unfolded/fully extended. I want to ensure that when fully extended, my product is of a similar length to the market's leading steering wheel lock; Stoplock, but 'when folded up can be stored in the vast majority of vehicle interior glove boxes and/or door card pockets.

To work this I have taken the measurements of various vehicle storage compartments (only recording the smallest extremities to ensure a realistic representation - See measurements recorded below (Recorded as WIDTH x HEIGHT x DEPTH):

VW Golf Mk3:
Upper Glove Box: 300x80x195mm
Lower Glove Box: 380x80x90mm

Mercedes Benz - E-Class Estate (S211):
Glove Box: 280 x100x100mm

Mercedes Benz - E-Class Saloon (W210):
Glove Box: 300c85x120mm

Range Rover Vogue:
Glove Box: 270x65x170mm
Door Pocket: 270x130x80mm

The smallest dimensions of all 4 measured cars are highlighted in RED - I would Ideally like to make my product fit within these dimensions when folded to enable the product to fit into a wide range of vehicle storage compartments.

See images below of the CAD experimentation in relation to the above:
